Oh my as it been a year

Oh my it been a year since I last post. Children are growing on me. Michael turned 17 and starting Share Aah Crop Farm. He did good with his corn this year and a green bean patch. Now he's sitting things up for next year. He also learning a lot from it also. How to work on a tractor and this winter break it down to repaint it. Meeting other farmers and learning from them.

So in the morning it a few morning chores then hitting the books. Then to hands on lesson. One of the books Kellie working on as a assignment I'm loving. She in charge of the Laundry for 4 weeks. Now maybe she see why I fuss when they throw clothes in the floor or change clothes two times a day. We shall see.

Learning while school out

The school house was closed during the summer as for learning from a book. But it was open everyday to on hands. The kids played down on the creek making them a dam at the stream. They saw and watched tadpoles go thou the stages to adult. Learn how to read different signs of living animals to identify them. Before we officially get back in the books we took a 8 day road trip along the North Carolina Cost. Where the kids read and seen the aquariums, the civil war and Indian museums, Kitty Hawk and more. Chase crabs on the beach at night, the sea oats, and to take a ferry boat ride for 2 hours and see a large sting ray and dolphins. Like I say each day is a school day in a way for their something we can learn or enforce each waking moment.

Looking forward to Tomarrow

I'm looking forward to tomorrow I'm taking my webelo's to Pilot Mt. and Yadkin River Park assess for a talk with some rangers. I just wished it was a little cooler. We have had high 90's and very little rain all week. Its a shame we can't help those who flooding by piping their water here.
At the store the kids and I cleaned and rearranged the bagging room. I needs to making lesson plans for the week.

New School Year Starts

Hello
Today it is hot here and dry. My husband and I went camping on Pilot Moutain last night. We needed some time alone. So Kellie spent the night at grandmas. The boys stayed home. Things are bring up.
We are starting back at the schooling this week. Kellie started working on hers last week. Kellie is 7 years of age. We read about a girl in Morocco named Nada. In reading about her Kellie found her on the world map, made a rice pudding desert, and made a mosaic picture on her lap folder. The picture was the life cycle of the butterfly. We read yesterday about a girl named Eeva from Finland. The craft we are going to work on is making a felt table runner. She wants to make it with a Christmas scene.
The boys will start working on the following. Michael (12 years of age) reading books about the native Americans that lived in our area and write a report. Practice 40 knots and learning their names. Jacob Do work sheets on Personal Fitness #1 thou 5, Write introduction to his eagle project. Computer #1 & 2.
We see how it goes.
